I tend to be called a hipster and heard people tell me I just dislike things for being popular or whatever. But I've also emphasized several times there ARE things I love a lot of others love, and there ARE things I hate a lot of others hate. I love Lord of the Rings 1-3 for instance, and I hate Dragonball Evolution and Son of the Mask for instance. Could make a huge-ass list for it even if I cared to, but will not do so.
What I wish to do with this journal is to explain myself and my belief when it comes to opinions. I believe in literally being yourself as much as you can. Don't let it affect you how others think - just love and enjoy what

After the failed attempt in 1995 to adapt the Judge Dredd comics into a live action movie starring Sylvester Stallone only resulting in it being a dumb guilty pleasure at best, there was a big chance that would kill chances for a faithful adaptation to ever be produced. Everyone mainstream has viewed Judge Dredd as a joke over the years, in the same fashion people did with Batman after the Adam West TV Show. But just like with Tim Burton giving Batman a more serious dark take in 1989, a unknown director named Peter Travis gave us a more serious dark take on Dredd last year.

While I'm at it on the Godzilla front, I watched this really good video about the Big G and his franchise the other day. More specifically, about whether or not it's "okay" for Godzilla to be silly. (Spoiler, the answer is yes.) I particularly liked the guy mentioning that this is a similar argument thrown around for characters like Batman and James Bond as well. Some things in fandom truly are universal, it seems.
